The ask

TeKSI launched in 2022 to protect Indonesia’s coral reefs by helping the businesses around them — seaweed farming in Sumba, tourism in Papua’s Bird’s Head Seascape — work in ways that keep the reef alive. Funded by the Global Fund for Coral Reefs, run by Konservasi Indonesia and CI Ventures. Important, complex, and, from the outside, invisible. They asked us to plan the communication and then do all of it.

What we did

  • Communication strategy — mapped the audiences and stakeholders, from fishing communities and seaweed farmers to funders and government, and worked out what each needed to hear.
  • Channels, language, visuals — chose where the programme would speak, set the tone in Indonesian and English, and built the look to match.
  • Logo and brand guidelines, then the things people actually hold: factsheets, brochures, posters, banners.
  • Website — the programme’s home online, built and filled.
  • Content production — a steady run of social posts for Instagram and YouTube, and the collateral for events and field visits.
  • Films — an overview animation, plus documentaries shot in Sumba, Kupang, and Bird’s Head Seascape, including underwater.

What happened

One voice across every channel, a visual system partners and funders recognise on sight, and films that explain the model without flattening the science. The full films live on Konservasi Indonesia’s YouTube channel.
