Indonesia di COP

The ask

Purpose Indonesia was heading to COP30 in Belém with a coalition of Indonesian civil society organisations, and needed one public place for everything: the agenda of side events, live updates from the negotiations, press releases, quotes, and what people at home could do. It had to be live before the summit, a few weeks away, and hold up under daily updates from the other side of the world. Then a second question arrived: what does the site become once the COP is over?

What we did

• Wireframes to launch in about three weeks — information architecture, wireframes, and hi-fi design, then a lightweight WordPress build: an agenda you can filter by day, place, and host and add to your calendar; a live feed from the field; a press centre with journalist registration; and a form so coalition members could add their own events.
• Through the summit — the coalition published live updates, press releases, and quotes from 7 to 18 November 2025, as the delegation worked in Belém. The site held.
• The rebuild, April–May 2026 — a custom theme from scratch replacing the page-builder stack: cleaner, faster, and editable by the team. A merged news archive, a COP glossary you can search as you type, a contact page, and the coalition’s Instagram feed on the home page.
• Peta Aksi Iklim Indonesia — an interactive map of climate initiatives by civil society across Indonesia, filterable by forest, energy, community, and ocean, with a public submission form and an approval step so the coalition curates what appears.
• Kept the identity — Epilogue type; orange, amber, blue, navy; the coalition’s illustrations. Familiar to the people who used it in November, tidier for the people who use it now.

What happened

Launched 30 October 2025, presented to press on 8 November, and used daily through COP30. The rebuilt site went live on 26 May 2026 and now looks ahead to COP31: the news archive is the record of what Indonesia’s civil society said in Belém, and the map is open for submissions. We host and look after it.
